Stories Of Kuching

What is Kuching to me? As I am not a local citizen, I have various opinions about Kuching. For me, Kuching is a family friendly city. Why so? To me, one of the biggest Kuching attractions are the reservoir park. Not only that you can enjoy the beauty of the nature but you can bond with your family by just by staying for a couple of days or maybe more. Not only that you get to bond with your family but you get to do activities such as hiking, swimming and most importantly enjoying the beauty of the nature.

Maybe some of the reservoir parks are far from the city but then, the city itself is alive. The city is very peaceful and the architecture itself is stunning enough. Why do I say? Did you realize that most of the governmental buildings have the same roof feature. What even more interesting is actually the fact that is it actually inspired by the race of the previous chief minister himself, which is Kelabit.

One of the beauty of Kuching’s reservoir park being far from the city itself is the fact that it could be a short getaway. Well not everyone can afford boarding airplanes all the time so it’s like a short getaway away from the city. I’ve once did it before where I was all stressed out on assignment I went to Damai for a mind therapy and yes it worked. The sound of the breezing wind, the splash of water from the beach and the sunset is so mesmerizing.

What even more interesting about the resorts are that it is a walk in experience. One of the examples is Matang Wildlife. There you can see an alpha orang utan hanging and swinging around the trees. It’s not like going to the zoo it’s literally walking into a jungle itself.

Lastly, the fact I love the most is that Kuching is the explosion of culture. I was shocked when I came here at first but it is what I love the most about Kuching, the culture. From all of these, I translated my art installation into 3 stories that I know about Kuching. The White Rajah, The Wildlife and The Culture. I used colours and materials to describe what I know about Kuching city.
